Nothing stirred on the roof of the old apartment complex. Shade stood, back to the rest of the world, she she surveyed the scene. She had been waiting for quite some time - Shade didn't know how long it took Serenity to travel, but she figured that she would know that Shade wanted to talk. They hadn't seen each other in a long time, and Shade hadn't had a substantial conversation in days.
The rooftop was still. The weathervane barely offered more than a timid quiver every now and again. Shade wanted to push it just to make it seem like something was happening. Of course, what was the use in pretending? It was just another dull, slack day.

Serenity walked up to the top of the building having recently checked in on Vivian's place, or rather Mathew's apartment, well it was Vivian's while she was staying there.
"Hey Andi." she said with a smile and walked over to the other girl, "Sorry I'm late, I had to deal with a robbery downtown and the traffic was miserable." she said with a roll of her eyes, she had been helping out the titans a lot recently and Sorina had been dealing with spirits more than she had. It was a nice balance really and she even had some time to finish her major.

Shade turned around and smiled. She raised an eyebrow and invited her friend to sit down on the side of the roof with her.
"Make yourself comfortable."
She turned her head and looked at the busy street below her. The cars passed ominously beneath a blanket of fog. All that was visible was a yellow glow beneath the layer of white, but terrible screeches and honks penetrated the sheet of mist. Shade looked back at Serenity and yawned.
"So, how have you been? Busy... saving people?"

Serenity chuckled, "Yes and no." she said shrugging one shoulder and brushing her way to long blond hair out of her face again. It was a bad habit of hers and she never liked pulling it back so she continuously pushed it back out of her line of site.
She sat down on the side of the roof loving that she could sit up here and watch the world go by without being part of it. Of course on a Friday night that also meant dealing with a bunch of smog but she didn't mind much. She'd been through worse with the Titans. "I've been stopping killings and finding the least possible course of injury." she said with a sideways smile at her old friend.
She blinked her emerald eyes a few times before asking, "So what have you been up to? Haven't heard from you in a while." she said kicking her feet methodically against the roof's underside.

(Hmm, small font looks better ) Shade smiled and sighed.
"I can answer that easily," she confided. "Nothing. I've been, you know, traveling. Patrolling stuff that was already being watched by someone else. There are just too many superheroes these days. I think I've given up."
She coughed as a wisp of noxious smog reached her lungs. That was the danger of lurking near chimneys; there was always something coming out of it.

((I do it cause it saves space XD)) Serenity waved her head in front of her mouth to avoid breathing in the smoke, "Why your nothing if not powerful." she said with a shrug of her shoulder. She would have patted her friend on the back but then she would have been in danger of falling over and the emerald eyed medium wasn't quite wanting to kill one of her oldest friends today.
"Yeah there are a lot of superheros but it's our generations turn to make the best of life." she said with a small shrug. She really did believe that even her favorite threat was to haunt you till the day you passed over.

"True," Shade agreed. She stood up and leaned over to look at the cars. "But what about all of them? All of us keep risking our lives and give up our free time to fight for them and keep them safe, and for what? What is their generation doing for us?"
Shade kicked a small pebble from the gravel-caked rooftop and watched it bounce from flagpole to windowsill to flagpole until it finally hit a passing car, which honked in frustration. She was starting to think that cars honked for no apparent reason, and began to loathe the man or woman who installed the less-than-useful feature.

Serenity shrugged and threw a small ball of snow at the people walking on the streets below, whoever said she was a goody two shoes really needed to get their head checked. "Well if I know them their probably making sure we don't blow up the world." she joked with a smile on her face.
She glanced down at the cars through the mist of the morning and let it fill her senses. "I know for one Batman has profiles on anyone with powers. But that's just him, creepy stalker man and all that Jazz." she said with a small sarcastic smile.
